Snickers is a two year old Border Collie who came into BARK at the end of March with a broken leg we were told had healed. It hadn't, so we had it repaired and a plate inserted. The ends of the bones were healing side by side, so without surgery Snickers would have been lame the rest of her life. Having surgery was a no-brainer.

The surgery was $2,300 even at a generous discount from Carriage Hills Animal Clinic and Pet Hospital. Pre-surgery X-rays and follow-up X-rays were an additional $400. Snickers' foster mom paid over half the bill herself. BARK is raising money to pay the rest of the bill.

We were also told Snickers was an Aussie. Whoops! She turned out to be a wonderful Border Collie. However, BARK had committed to bring her in so we were committed to her health. Snickers' surgery and rehab went extremely well and she's now ready for a new home. She has turned out to be quite the ball hog now that she can run and walk without pain.
