Desert Lily: Resilience in the Wilderness is a collection of poems from various poets, reflecting on the experiences of infertility, loss, and hope in God.
Life's journey can present us with unique challenges, each one shaping our story in its own way. In this upcoming book, we offer a glimpse into a particularly challenging path that 1 in 6 couples walk.The poets contributing to this collection bring diverse experiences and perspectives on the sensitive topics of infertility, loss, and seeking strength from God during tough times. However, themes of grief, despair, crying out to God in the midst of pain or waiting, and holding on to hope unite us all as we navigate these experiences. Our prayer is that this outpouring of our hearts can serve as a balm and encouragement on the journey.
We are hoping to raise $5,000 to provide spiritual retreats specifically designed for women dealing with infertility. As partners with the Out of the Ashes Foundation, we also hope to extend our support to more couples facing infertility and pregnancy loss, and raise an additional $2,000 for current projects (such as Infertility Hope Boxes) and future initiatives. With an ambitious goal of raising $7,000 by October 18, we believe God has opened the doors to make this book possible, and trust He will continue to provide! There are multiple giving options available, and some options to receive products for your gift. We invite you to choose one of the pre-determined giving levels or donate toward our general retreat fund. No one travels the path of healing in a straight line - while there are stages to grief there are also times when it feels circular rather than linear. In those moments our lives intersect with beauty, grace, love, and truth - we are given unique ways to see anew, to experience deeper intimacy with God and others.
Suggestions for how to use these notecards:
- Color them in while listening to music or Scripture
- Add a new color every day/week/month, and reflect on where you saw God during that time period
- Spend time in prayer while reflecting on each drawing. Write down verses or phrases that come to mind, and pray over them.
- Use these drawings as a template for a collective painting/ coloring in a group for a couple facing infertility or a specific individual walking through a difficult season. Each person takes turns filling in a space with a different color. Let the picture be a reminder to them that they belong, that they have a community of people who love them and are with them on the journey.
