Sima Festival is a celebration of winter focused on reflecting, redefining and fostering our individual and collective relationship with the environment.
Our second annual festival is happening from January 24 through 28th, 2024. The festival encompasses art, music, education, community gatherings, outdoor recreation and more.
Happily combined from the powerful words of 'soul' and 'anima', Sima was born to help us connect and celebrate a little more during the dark and cold of winter. It just happens that the word Sima is also the lowest layer of the Earth's crust which connects land and oceans; a stunning image of global connection. Seizing a seasonal storytelling focus, Sima Festival : Wintering Together highlights the vital role of art in creating kinship with our community and our environment.
We believe a celebration of winter is a starting point in
cultivating love and respect for the season, motivating the need for
social changes to promote and honor it.
