Lia Maria was found dangling by her leg, stuck for who knows how long, before a Good Samaritan freed her and brought her to us. Her leg was so damaged by then that it had no blood supply. Her tail was also found to have multiple fractures.
We can't imagine what it was like for Lia Maria to hang upside down from that fence. The pain she must have endured in her leg must have been excruciating. And yet she is nothing but loving, grateful, and super sweet - she must know that she was saved!
Her back leg will never work again. With no blood supply, she can't move it (but she can drag it with her as she walks). The only thing that can be done for her is to remove the leg - to free her from the weight and burden of carrying it around.
This sweetie has been through so much already. Please help us give her the best quality of life possible by donating toward the cost of her surgery and aftercare-related costs. Once she recovers, we are confident we can find her a loving, indoor home where she'll never have to worry about hanging upside down again.
