Meet the founder Bishop Richard D. Prim, Sr. Bishop was born February 14, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was privileged to lead Kansas City Community Church in Kansas City, Kansas as pastor for 29 years.He has preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ for more than 40 years. He is a passionate worshipper and a anointed preacher,who uses cutting edge technology to help get people into the word and the word into people.
He graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana Christian University in 1981.He was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 1982. He later earned his Masters Degree from Southern California School of Ministries in May of 1996, and then earned his Doctor of Ministries Degree from the same school in May 1998. He became pastor of Freeman Avenue Church of God (now Kansas City Community Church) , in 1986.
He served as the Chairman of the Wyandotte County United Way Faith
counsel. The Faith Council (the Council) functions in an advisory
capacity to bridge the gap between United Way and the Faith Community
to maximize delivery of social services in Wyandotte County.
Bishop Prim served as Associate Pastor in charge of
Administrative Affairs at the Devonridge Church of God, Indianapolis;
Minister of Music for the First Church of God, Lenoir, N.C; and also
worked with churches throughout the state of Texas. Bishop is also
very active in the community serving on a number of boards and
committees. And has received several awards and accommodations for his work.
He served the National Inspirational Youth Convention of the
Church of God as Assistant Treasurer in 1986-1988 and as Treasurer in
1989-1991. He served as Vice President from 1991-1993. He was elected
as President and served from 1994-1997. He served as the Presidential
Advisor of this annual convention that has a following of over 6,000
African American youth through December 2001.
He was ordained as a Bishop in May 2007. He is married to
Carolyn F. Prim, and has five children, a host of grandchildren and a
brand new great grandson he affectionately call “Bubba!”
