A couple of months ago, we saved a very pregnant dog whom we named Rylee from Tipton County. Shortly after she arrived, Rylee gave birth to a beautiful litter of babies. After a few weeks passed, their eyes had opened and they started moving around, their foster mom noticed that Maxx bumped into things...a lot :( When Maxx and Ruby went in for their first round of shots, our vet wanted to wait until they got a little bigger to examine their eyes. Last weekend when our sweet babies went back for their second round, they both had exams done. We were devastated to learn that Maxx is 100% blind and Ruby is completely blind in one eye. We were told they could put in a referral to a specialist if we could afford to spend the money. As tight as our budget is, we will never deny any of our babies the care they need. If it means that we can't save any new dogs for awhile, then that is how it has to be. Their appointment was made and this morning they were driven to Nashville... we hoped for the best. It turns out that Maxx and Ruby have detached retinas which sadly cannot be corrected. They will be in our care indefinitely now and will only be adopted to homes with a fence. This FundRazr is to help us with the funds spent on their visit today, as well as the ongoing cost of their care. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help. We want to continue saving dogs from death row but donations have been scarce this year :(
