Many of you might not know much about the company I work for -- Pegasystems -- but it's a global software company with large teams of caring people in places such as Cambridge, MA, London, UK, Bangalore, India, and Krakow, Poland. Our team in Poland is very closely affected by the war in Ukraine and is deeply engaged in support efforts. Some of my colleagues in London asked what we could do to help, and thus this fundraising ride from London to Paris was born. A group of us -- including me -- will be riding from London to Paris over 3 days. (We take an overnight ferry from Newhaven, UK to Dieppe, FR.)
The charity we'll support is close to one of our employees in Poland, who is a Ukrainian citizen. It's Fundacja Widowisk Masowych ( https://www.volonteers.com/en ), which is also the most popular Polish charity on our internal Pega giving platform this year. Their focus is on providing medicines and protective equipment for Ukrainian defenders - non lethal gear, giving the Ukrainian people a chance to defend themselves.
Because this fundraising campaign is being run from the UK, the currency is Pound Sterling. So as an example to help with the conversion, right now £20 = $24 USD, £100 = $120 USD, etc.

Even though you may not hear about it as much anymore, the war in
Ukraine rages on, with a huge impact on the daily lives of millions of
people. Continuing with the Pega tradition of helping those in need, a
group of us will cycle from London to Paris to raise funds for
Fundacja Widowisk Masowych, which is a charity close to one of our
Polish employees. Every day they load from 4 to 7 trucks weighing 20
tons and send them across the border from Poland to Ukraine, providing
medicines and protective gear for those in need!
This is a small gesture compared to the overall situation but
will have a real impact on the lives of dozens, if not hundreds of
people and your contribution will be greatly appreciated!
