Welcome, everyone, to my fundraising page! I am Erin, a believer in the power of literacy, a homeschooling mom, a military wife, and a person who believes in blessing others. My Usborne Books and More team is partnering with My Stuff Bags to fill duffel bags for children in crisis all over our country. My Stuff Bags is an amazing organization that works along side many different child welfare agencies in every state. They provide duffel bags full of new items for children who are placed into foster care after emergency situations, often times with no personal belongings of their own. It is their mission to provide these children a piece of dignity and love.
It is my deepest desire to bless others by utilizing my resources as effectively as possible and to give back to our community and country. I often find myself wanting to help during a crisis, and yet, I don't feel as if my small contribution can possibly help in a significant way. However, through this book drive, I am able to partner with other like-minded women and donors like you and together, we make a HUGE impact!
To date our Usborne Books & More team has raised over $55,000 in books (thanks to the generosity of Usborne and their commitment to match ALL donations by 50%)! Last year we were able to stuff 1,200 duffel bags for the youngest victims of Hurricane Harvey. That is something to be proud of!
Your tax-deductible donation will allow us to purchase two (or more!) books for these children. The first is for the younger children. It is a book called Cuddle Bear and comes with a teddy bear plush. It is a book about love, what these children need most. The other books are for older children titled, No Worries!, and Hello, Happy!. These are journals with prompts that will allow an older child to express his/her feels in a healthy way. Journaling has been shown to have many positive benefits during trauma.
