A few months ago, we helped a young couple get their male pit bull, Tribal, neutered. Recently, they contacted us because he was lost and asked for help finding him. We circulated flyers and networked him online. Tribal was missing for about five days before we were contacted by Paulding County Animal Control. Tribal had been picked up and his rabies tag traced back to our vet and then to us.

He had been hit by a car, probably shortly after he went missing, and had some broken toes and very bad road rash which was already infected. Due to the severity of his infection, Tribal had to be hospitalized for four days. To make things worse, we also discovered Tribal was heartworm positive. Realizing they were unable to care for their dog properly, especially with his new medical bills, Tribal's owners signed him over to Friends to the Forlorn. After Tribal recuperated from his injuries, he will undergo treatment for heartworms before he is available for adoption.

Please consider donating to help is get Tribal well again so this very sweet boy can find his forever family!

We need $750 to cover:

  • Four days of hospitalization at New Hope Animal Hospital
  • Medications & treatment for his road rash and infection
  • Heartworm treatment
