Doggie Protective Services Rescue hasn't added a story.
DPS Rescue is volunteer-driven, animal rescue organization. We rescue and adopt from Southern California to Las Vegas to Northern California. We are raising money because we currently have 3 dogs with a broken leg and one with a broken pelvis. Rory and Milo required surgery to repair their broken legs and extensive follow up care with x-rays and physical therapy to recover. Samson's broken leg and Fox's broken pelvis have not yet required surgery but require many veterinary vists and x-rays to ensure their break is healing properly. Any money raised beyond the goal will go towards funding the care of the next broken dog we help since everyday there are always more needing help in the shelter. Please read below to hear the stories of each of these dogs road to rescue.
Samson is a white poodle mix who ended up at the shelter when he was hit by a car and his owners were unable to pay for his medical care. He is so sweet and full of life that we knew this boy needed a second chance. He has a broken tibia that was able to be set without surgery but requires regular x-rays to ensure it is healing properly and may require surgery later if not. His foster home raves about how amazing he is and she even helps her babysit. We cannot wait for this boy to heal and find his forever home but we need your help to get him back to 100%.
Milo is a black poodle mix who ended up at the shelter when a good samaritan called animal control and they found him with a broken leg that was not being cared for. It was then found that he had a broken femur and dislocated knee that required surgery to repair. He is recovering safely now in his foster home but will require many follow up veterinary visits, x-rays, possible second surgery, medications to manage his pain, and physcial therapy for several months.
Fox was brought to the shelter after he was hit by a car and was found to have a broken pelvix. He has to stay on a very restricted activity program under the love of his foster home to ensure the break is able to heal. This also reqguires regular vet visits with x-rays to ensure that the break is on track healing otherwise surgery will be required.
Rory is a black lab mix that was hit by a car and we were called by the shelter to help. Rory has required two surgeries, weekly vet visits for cast changes and xrays, and careful watch of his foster mom to get this boy back to health! He will be ready to go soon but we have all his medical bills that we must now pay and they really add up with two surgeries and all the vet visits.
Thank you for reading their stories and helping our rescue to save these lives and all the ones in the future!
