Morgan, a 6 month old Border Collie mix, was among the 13 dogs left alone after their owner was incarcerated on Dec 4, 2013.(Read the full story on the SoCo Rescue Facebook page)
Just a day before that, Morgan was struck by a car and suffered injures to both of his rear legs. His right rear leg has an open wound about the size of a half dollar and looks to be about 1/2" deep. Morgan cannot put any weight on his left rear leg and keeps it elivated when he tries to walk. With his caretaker gone away for a while, Morgan was left with no one to tend to his medical needs and laying in the brush along side his home.
Southern Comfort Animal Rescue was asked to intervene and removed Morgan from the property, getting him to safety. SoCo Rescue is making arraignments to get Morgan to a vet for xrays and a full examination of his injures. While Morgan is at the vet, we also hope to get him his other needed vet care, which will include neutering and a full round of vaccines. The estimated cost of the above mentioned vet care, not including any other medical needs arising from his injuries, will be $335. Once he has been thoroughly examined, we'll update his financial needs.
