After carefully evaluating many different options on the market, and trying many crates that have not kept SNPR Liberty sufficiently safe, we have come to a point we've decided having a crate custom made to fit her exact needs is going to be the best option to keep her safe.  We are still deciding on a company to do the build we need but so far the estimates we're getting back are ranging from $1000 - $1500 for what we need the crate to be.  Our goal is to raise $1100 to cover the fees charged by Fundrazr and allow us to get a crate build so we don't have to worry about Liberty getting injured in her crate during her episodes.  I will post updates as they are available.  

Liberty was born with a rare and undiagnosable neurological condition, while we have found ways that have helped her live a fairly normal life she does still have episodes every week or two that generally last around an hour.  During this time she needs to be kept pretty confined in a space she can't injure herself in or hit hard into things.  After getting her foot caught in the wire of her current crate earlier this week during an episode, we're now seeing that we need something better for her!  Please help us in securing the crate we need to truly keep her safe!  Photos of estimates we've received will be posted as updates. 

We have searched and searched but because of her needs, we simply cannot find anything that meets her needs.  The bottom half of the crate needs to be solid so there is nothing she can get her feet or toes caught in during her episodes, the door needs to be on the side of the crate and wide enough that she can easily be placed in her crate while she's rigid in one of her episodes, and the crate itself had to be wide enough that she can lay with her legs rigid and fully extended during her episodes, and we're just not finding a single crate that meets all those things for Liberty, a custom built crate is going to be the only way to really get what she needs out of a crate.  

SNPR Lady Liberty will remain with SNPR for life due to her special and unique medical issues, that no amount of testing or specialist care has been able to determine the exact cause, treatment, or prognosis for.  She lives a happy fairly normal life 95% of the time, but she will always need a high level of care to make sure that remains the case.  She's an expensive girl but she's worth every cent it takes to keep her healthy and happy!
