Animal Rescue Network of New England hasn't added a story.
PLEASE HELP MALIE! Malie was adopted from Animal Rescue Network of New England about a year ago after many long months in a boarding kennel searching for the right family. Finally her perfect family was found but right before the adoption it was discovered Malie had heartworms even though ARNNE had been giving her HW preventative while in our care. Because this was a pre-existing medical condition, ARNNE has been funding her heartworm treatment for the last 11 months. Yes, it has taken multiple courses of heartworm treatment and she is still heartworm positive. Heartworm treatment alone is expensive, but a couple of days ago Malie ended up in the Emergency Hospital from a complication from her heartworms. The doctors think that a clot from the heartworms made its way to her brain and caused her to have a type of which caused her liver to shut down temporarily. Since her Emergency Vet visit was a direct result of her heartworms, ARNNE would like to help the adoptive family with the bill they incurred. We are struggling to pay for the continual cost of her heartworm treatment so any donations to help cover this vet visit would be greatly appreciated. ARNNE will also have to do an expensive ultrasound of her heart to determine the best strategy to deal with malie's heartworms going forward. And then continue to fund her heartworm treatment in the coming months. Please help with a donation if you can!
