In Jamaica, it's illegal to be a Trans Woman, and any sexual act between Trans women and their partners is punishable by 10 years in prison or instant death from being mobbed and beaten by the police, family, and/or transphobic community members.
- 99 % of Trans Women in Jamaica face extreme homelessness hiding in gullies and unsafe squatter settlements that are raided regularly by the police and transphobic individuals. During these raids, homeless Trans women in Jamaica face extreme abuse, beatings, and death.

WHY I STARTED THIS FUND?
✔️ Because I am 32 and as a Black Trans Woman my life expectancy is 20.
✔️ Because I'm beaten, tortured, chased, and forgotten for being who I am.
✔️ Because it's illegal to be Gay / Trans / Lesbian/ Queer in Jamaica. So I have to seek refuge in the gullies, trash, Bush and always hiding.
✔️ Because to be LGBT in Jamaica means instant death if outed or caught. And the laws are set up to glorify acts of violence against LGBTQ folks.
✔️ Because Gully Queens are human beings and we all deserve to love. And just like the trees, birds, and you. We deserve to be here.
✔️ Because you never see our cries ( deaths) on TV as we have no voice And if we do speak out against those who persecute us the government/police and church crucify us and even thou we're the victims we still die.
✔️ Because our existence is never mentioned in the media or our stories are never heard by the world. ️I stand to be the voice for all LGBTQ folks on the island.
My story .....
I have experienced acts of Violence in Jamaica; because of my gender identity. I was raped, tortured, and beaten by the police when I was outed as Trans.
I need to bring hope to my Trans sisters facing persecution in Jamaica, inspire the world to come together, and help change the draconian laws that criminalize Trans folks and make our existence illegal in Jamaica.
Let's End Government / Media Censorship
The government of Jamaica, the media, and the church stifle our freedom of speech and there is a system of oppression that prevents LGBTQ folks from being heard. That's why, crimes and violence against us LGBTQ folks are never published or broadcast on the Media.
Government and corporate actors are working together to present the picture of Jamaica as being a loving tourist destination while censoring LGBTQ folk's voices and hiding crimes being committed against them.
Each year hundreds of LGBTQ folks are being murdered and violently attacked more so than in any other part of the world. Jamaica is named the most homophobic country in the world.
Such homophobia is so normalized that it's being carried out by the Police. As such, there is nowhere to be safe from violence in Jamaica, because the entire country is Homophobic and transphobic.
All acts of Violence against LGBTQ folks are supported by the law and legislation that make the lifestyle of LGBTQ folks illegal. In addition, the churches on the island preach that it is moral justice to persecute LGBTQ folks. Especially, Gays and Trans Women.
🏳️⚧️ HOUSING -GULLY QUEEN YAAD PROJECT
At the moment, 95% of LGBTQ folks suffer from homelessness in Jamaica. Especially, Black Trans Women and Gay men. For example, if a gay man or Trans woman is outed as gay or transgender they are instantly shunned by their family, and friends and they have to leave the community instantly. As mobs of people will be looking to violently attack or murder them.
As such, many gay men and transgender women are forced to live in gullies hidden away from the general public. In addition to facing Homeless Gay men and Transgender women can be criminally prosecuted by the government for having sexual relations.
The first phase of this project seeks to establish community housing by purchasing 8 to 10 acres of land to build a community with eco-friendly homes for homeless LGBTQ folks to access housing, financial assistance, and resources needed to protect their lives.
In the short term, we are seeking to raise funds to provide emergency housing to Homeless Black Trans and Gay Men living in the gullies of New Kingston. And providing financial assistance to Black Trans Women and Gay Men doing sex work within the vicinity of New Kingston.
IN MEMORY ....
This cause is dedicated to the memory of Dexter Pottinger and your donations go towards helping the LGBTQ community that he inspired to be free even when it may cost us our lives.

Why being a Trans Woman in Jamaica is illegal.
LGBTQ Rights in Jamaica are non-existence and their lifestyle is criminalized by the law. Meaning that sexual relations between two men is criminalized. This puts Trans Women at risk because there are no gender markers presently existing in legislation. As such Trans Women are seen as men by the government and also by society as a whole. Therefore, they are being prosecuted and sent to prison for having sex with other Trans, straight, and gay men.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Jamaica
For Trans Women and other queer folks living on the islands, their lives are marked with instant death if outed or being sent to prison for 10 years if suspected or caught having sexual relations with a man. They can be beaten and killed by anyone and there will be no arrest. Simple because the laws and society protect homophobic and transphobic Jamaicans from criminalization, and justify such killings.
BLACK TRANS WOMEN FACE INSTANT DEATH IN JAMAICA.....
"Jamaica: I failed Oshane Gordon. I will not fail others."

Support this cause to bring hope to the Trans Women, called Gully Queens in Jamaica living in hell, and to help raise awareness for their plight by building safe homes in communities that offer them safety and protection.
THE LGBTQ ASYLUM FUND
Because the entire country is homophobic and transphobic there is literally nowhere for gay men or Trans Women to live as they have to hide in the shadows to escape being killed or violently attacked. Worst being accused of having sexual relations with another Gay man or Trans woman. Which is a mandatory 10-year prison sentence of hard labor given by the government.
Being exposed as Gay or Transgender in Jamaica means instant death in public by mobs of people. For a Trans Woman to be seen in a dress means instant death. For a gay man holding another man's hands or worse kissing means instant death. Or 10 years in prison.
As such, donate to provide resources towards the asylum application for LGBTQ folks currently on the island who are in fear for their lives and being persecuted by the police, and those being prosecuted by the court for having sexual relations with another man.
Let's set LGBTQ folks free in Jamaica and help them get to safe countries that accept their existence. Where they can be free from injustice, rape, abuse, and violation of their human rights.

Black Trans Women is the greatest.

To ensure that this never happens the Homeless Black Trans Women Fund is dedicated to providing all wraparound services necessary for Black Trans Women to feel safe, and protected and provide housing with wellness, career, and educational programs that allow Homeless Black Trans Women to achieve their dreams in safe communities and housing.
- At the moment, our housing model includes purchasing properties. That is; apartments and houses in safe communities to provide housing to Homeless Trans Women and also, purchase land that will be developed into Trans Community housing nationwide.
