Toppers CC is a small family orientated club that enables
children as well as adults to take part in the Guy Fawkes
carnivals in Somerset, England.
We compete in the famous Somerset Guy Fawkes carnivals every
year with people coming from all over the world to see the largest
illuminated carnival in Europe.
First established in 1994, Toppers Carnival Club has had many
successful carnival carts! Luck of the Irish in 2004, Tiger Rock in
2006 and Zulus in 2007.
Toppers have won county, best costumes, most original and much more.
Toppers CC truly prides itself in enabling children to be
apart of the build from start to finish, and then take part on the
cart in the processions.
The whole process is so educational and teaches children
lifelong skills they will not forget!
Too many children are sat in front of computers or have mobile phones glued to their hands nowadays, but h ere at Toppers CC we help build and develop social skills. Children learn to use tools, basic carpentry, electrics, engineering, lighting and audio systems plus a massive sense of achievement when they get to see something built from start to finish.
Our club continues to evolve and grow from strength to
strength every year, however, equipment, visual effects and audio
systems have there limitations and soon become outdated or even
damaged due to unforeseen extreme weather conditions.
Toppers CC spend thousands of pounds every year on building
and putting out fantastic carts, however, as a
non profit charity organisation this can be very hard to do!
Vehicle insurance costs over £1200 for us to drive on the
road for just 1 week!
We rely on donations from the general public to help us
continue keeping the club alive, whilst also supporting us in
teaching and educating children with lifelong skills.
