Volunteer Action for Change Kenya (VACK Jitolee Afrika) is a charitable, non-political and non-sectarian organization founded with the aim of offering an avenue to the youth, women and the vulnerable members of the society a chance to be actively involved in the development process of their community structures and initiatives. This is realized through the promotion and development of the volunteerism sector. Since its inception VACK has continuously given opportunities to both skilled and unskilled volunteers to serve in community groups within Kenya and in the event contributed to service delivery and uplifting of human dignity.

Kipepeo Community Program is a community Based Organization initiated in October 2009 to help spearhead community driven development initiatives and enable needy community groups participate in integrated development to achieve quality livelihood from; orphanage and rehabilitation of street children’s, support vulnerable children, voluntary work to various community projects, Community Savings and loaning , HIV/AIDS trainings & awareness Campaigns, Capacity Building, Computer Services and Environmental Management.

The program is also designed to respond to Emuhaya youths’ needs and assets; the KCEP Project aims to empower youth to make sound career and life decisions as they transition from high school to the next phase of their lives. The project is also building the capacity of local institutions and networks to sustain the much-needed services that KCEP will provide. Specifically, the KCEP Project intends to offers youth a series of inter-connected interventions to: build skills, facilitate appropriate career choices, provide employment and/or income generating opportunities, bridge technical and university education opportunities and provide fun and safe spaces.

Mission: To support orphans, vulnerable children and street children through a rehabilitation centre and basic necessities and facilitate needy community groups to participate in integrated activities to achieve quality livelihood.

 Activities being offered

The program offers the following activities to assist in the development process of the local community at the same time develop the skills of both the women and the youth who are the people who are actively involved in community activities in these areas.

1. Free basic computer training for the local youths
2. Entrepreneurship training
3. Community school to support the academic development of orphaned & Vulnerable children
4. Street children rehabilitation project
5. HIV/AIDS awareness program
6. Microfinance trainings and capacity building for community groups
7. Sustainable agriculture awareness

At the moment all these services are being offered in rented premises which are hindering the development of the project

Community Resource Centre

In 2014 we managed to acquire a piece of land where our plans to establish a community resource centre that will host our activities which are:

1. A community school for orphans and vulnerable children
2. A career guidance centre for the local youths
3. A free computer training program
4. A community social hall
5. A rehabilitation centre for the children on the streets
6. Demonstration plots to promote sustainable agriculture

In the plot through the donations from friends and volunteers we have managed to lay the foundation of the first building that will house the groups secretariat, computer training room, career centre, and a meeting point room for community groups. We therefore are requesting for support to be able to finish up this project so us our goal of empowering the local youths and equipping them with adequate skills is realized.
