The Rebalancing Funds: 600,000 for 600,000

Direct cash relief meets sovereign community trades. A proactive economic response to mass labor displacement.

Over the past two years, more than 600,000 Black women were pushed out of the active U.S. workforce.

Official labor statistics often paint a picture of broad stability, but they obscure what is actually happening on the ground. By late 2025, the unemployment rate for Black women had climbed to 7.3%—nearly double the rate of white women (3.5%–3.8%). What headline figures omit entirely are the 600,000 Black women who, after submitting hundreds of unanswered applications and navigating automated screening rejections, stopped applying altogether. Once an individual exhausts benefits or pauses their active search, government metrics categorize them as "out of the labor force"—erasing them from headline unemployment rates while their material precarity deepens.

Black women have borne the sharpest brunt of recent layoffs, public-sector contractions, and corporate DEI rollbacks. Over 50% of Black women are the primary or sole financial providers for their households. When their income vanishes, entire family networks and community foundations face immediate risk.

Suicide Prevention Month - Addressing a Root Cause

Every September during National Suicide Prevention Month, our feeds fill with messages about mental health awareness, breathing exercises, and crisis lines.

Yet we consistently avoid discussing one of the material causes of acute despair: economic precarity. Epidemiological data shows that prolonged, involuntary unemployment doubles the risk of severe depression and suicidality. A crisis hotline offers comfort, but it cannot stop an eviction notice. A resume workshop offers advice, but it cannot replace lost health insurance.

Suicide prevention without financial intervention treats the symptoms of despair while letting the fire burn. Direct capital is suicide prevention in practice.

The Rebalancing Funds was created to stop the freefall through immediate relief and long-term economic sovereignty.

Our Goal: Raising $600,000 for 600,000

We are raising $600,000 to deploy a dual-layer intervention:

- $200,000 for immediate direct relief through the disbursment of $10,000 unrestricted grants to 20 applicants. No expense audits, no bureaucratic gatekeeping, and no trauma-essay competitions. The grant provides means to clear overdue rent, retain healthcare, and restore basic agency.

- $400,000 for long-term sovereignty by implementing a trade-training hub, a creative studio and an AI-free staffing agency. We will invite professionals to teach high-demand, tangible skills—specifically plumbing, industrial sewing, and handy maintenance. These trades provide durable livelihoods that cannot be eliminated by automated algorithms or corporate restructuring. Through the creative studio, we will produce ethically made apparel and client digital websites, generating commercial revenue that circulates back into the fund to sponsor future grant cycles. The staffing agency will connect vetted Black women directly with values-aligned employers without using automated AI screening filters to evade current algorithmic biases.

Note: A real-time public accounting system will track every dollar raised and disbursed, while secure applicant privacy infrastructure and independent CPA tax guidance for grant recipients will allow for the fair and efficient disbursement of the grants.

To ensure every grant application cycle is backed by liquid capital, our direct relief intake operates in deliberate phases:

- The initial grant intake opens as soon as the campaign reaches $30,000 (securing funding for the first three $10,000 grants immediately upon selection). Displaced workers can sign up on our website today for launch alerts.

- Applications for the trade apprenticeship cohorts and employer hiring pledges are open now.
