In one of the worst cases we've ever seen here at BCHS, Baboo came to us with a severe infection that had spread all over his face and parts of his body. He has a long road of healing ahead of him, but we are determined to make that happen for him.

Baboo came to us in shock. A good samaritan saw him walking around outside with an infection so bad his face was unrecognizable, and brought him to the shelter in hopes that he could be saved. Most shelters would have had him euthanized immediately, but because of Maryville shelter's joint venture with BCHS, injured and sick animals receive medical care and treatment. Baboo is young, so we are hopeful that he can recover and live a long life.

Baboo requires round-the-clock care. He's on a strong dose of antibiotics to kill the bacterial infection on his skin, in addition to requiring a feeding tube because the poor guy isn't eating on his own. He's also receiving round-the-clock pain meds and fluids. We are also running tests to determine what caused his condition. While at first our vets suspected foul play, they are now leaning towards a bacterial overgrowth that got out of control.

All of this, of course, costs money -- and this is where we turn to YOU! Please help us be able to continue our treatment of Baboo! His life depends on your contributions. Without the funds, we are not able to treat this sweet baby. He deserves a second chance. Thanks so much!
