By working at a grassroots level, Corpus Christi Atheist (CCA) can provide timely and essential support to those who need it most. CCA is continually identifying and documenting unmet needs where a small helping hand can have a big impact. Funds collected could be used to supplement temporary housing; purchase food, personal care or household items; provide gift cards to meet individual needs; buy building materials for the uninsured or under-insured; obtain high-need items identified by local shelters; etc.

Although the North Texas Gulf Coast is currently suffering from disastrous flooding, residents of the smaller coastal cities where the category 4 storm made landfall are returning to devastation. Rockport, Aransas Pass and surrounding communities are particularly affected; some are completely unable to return to their homes, while others are eager to start rebuilding. Many are navigating a challenging interim period where gaps in support elevate personal trauma and leave fulfillment of basic needs in limbo.

CCA has dozens of volunteers that are ready to put ‘good for goodness sake’ into action around Coastal Bend. Members will participate in an organized cleanup brigade on Saturday, September 2nd and assist affected individuals at any time on an as-needed basis.

Although we are not a tax-exempt entity, 100% of all donations will go directly to local individuals or shelters housing individuals with verified needs. We will account for all donations by providing beneficiary updates, receipts and photos.
