Our mission as members of BWN is to promote and support professional women in their careers as executives, business owners and leaders. In order to have a significant impact on the business community in Howard County, Maryland and to further our mission, BWN founded the Life Long Learner Scholarship Program. Since the program was established in 2000, we have awarded over $55,000 in scholarships.
The women who have been awarded scholarships run the gamut from established career women who need additional education to reach the next level in their profession to women who want to pursue a complete career change. Others have been out of the work force for several years raising children or caring for elderly parents and need to brush up on old skills or learn new ones to enter the job market successfully.
Whether it is to pursue a degree programs, or a technical, certificate or training programs, we recognize individuals who are driven to succeed, demonstrate leadership, and are not afraid to express their ideas and display a willingness to give back to their community!
