Chattooga County Animal Control - Summerville, GA has two dogs that are heartworm positive - we would love to get treatment for these two dogs and get them to a rescue in the Northeast. Unfortunately, the NE has restrictions on taking heartworm positive dogs and the dogs will have to be treated before they can take them.

Both of these dogs are shelter favorites. Grey is the golden retriever mix- such a love bug - young dog - about a year old - and already inflicted with heartworms.

B-head was a stray dog that people were neighborhood kids were throwing rocks at. He is a great dane mix and so so sweet and loving - he is sure he is a 75 lb lap dog. He is also about a 2 years old and has the dreaded heartworms.

Animal Advocates of Chattooga County volunteers are willing to foster the dogs and get them through their heartworm treatment - if we can just raise the funds.

Those in rescue know that the heartworm treatment is expensive. We have gotten estimates from our vet including a rescue discount to treat both of these dogs. The total would $1100.

Any donations you make would be tax deductible - Animal Advocates of Chattooga County is 501c3 organization. Their mission is to assist the shelter with the medical needs of the animals. Unfortunately, they have treated a large number of dogs this year and have to reach out for assistance from other animals lovers.
