Hello from Roy! I have been poorly for many months if not years and really need help right now because humans are so concerned about my suffering and my quality of life, they are seriously considering taking me for my last injection.

My lungs are very bad – but I am not hopeless – the vet said I have some usable lung capacity and I may get better. But drugs we have tried so far have not helped at all and nebulisation is my last resort. I have great hopes for this treatment and feel really positive about it but I need to get a nebuliser and the drugs to help me. Did you know that there are many bunnies who did not respond to Baytril orally but did when it was nebulised? I really want to try that. I will also be having an antiseptic drug F10 nebulised to me and homeopathy given to me in my drinking water.

The nebuliser that we need is the top priority on our Amazon wish list but this fundraiser is mainly for my drugs as well as vet home call-outs which may be required and prescription charges. This is the minimum that I will need and if I raise more than I am asking for, it is great and it will all go toward my treatment. 

These are the recent videos of me. In this one, I am so weak – I am terrified but still cannot get out of the oxygen box, that’s how weak my bad lungs make me. This video shows how I sit for hours when I cannot breathe, with my nose upwards, gasping for air. On my current antibiotic treatment, this has not improved. Not only that, I am so afraid of being touched, picked up and especially medicated orally that I stop breathing and become very limp. I nearly choked last time and humans cannot give me any more oral drugs.

I cannot lie down, I cannot sleep or relax because breathing is so much effort all the time. I cannot run, get away from danger or binky because I don’t get enough air through my lungs for such activity. If you pick me up, I scream and am terrified yet so limp I cannot get away. My eyes are always big, my cheeks are always straining for breath and my chest makes a screeching noise with each breath which can be heard so far, there’s no getting away from it and I’m always on my humans’ mind. It is so sad for them to hear me struggling so much all the time. They are even afraid to come near my run because I get so stressed and scream like a guinea pig. It is because oral medications hurt me so much – I cannot even take Metacam which I need twice a day every day – because taking medicine orally makes my breathing even worse and I feel like choking. The first treatment didn’t help me and nebulisation seems to be my only hope.

My past owners dismissed my illness as me being a squeaky bunny but as soon as I came to Helicopter Ears, they said I was a very ill bunny and needed help.
