The copper downspouts at this beautiful, historic church in Hammonton were recently stolen.  This particular church has a LONG history of kindness to those in need, going back to the Great Depression and probably before. I remember my father telling me about how it was the Presbyterian Church in town that helped a poor widow and her children who had nowhere else to turn. This church provided food for her and her children and found jobs for the older kids. The family never forgot this; neither did their friends.

Today, this church maintains a very active food pantry.

I spoke to the pastor and she said that the cost of new, non-copper downspouts would cost approximately $1,700.

I hope that we can pull together as an online community and donate a few dollars for this very worthy cause.
