Never before has Haiti Liberté been so needed to keep you and the Haitian people informed. As Haiti's largest weekly, thousands rely on it to bring them hard-hitting analysis and news that's found nowhere else. For many peasant organizations, neighborhood committees, women's groups, unions, and popular struggles, Haiti Liberté is their only outlet. While wildly popular with the public, we rely mostly on cash-strapped small businesses for advertising. The paper is boycotted by Haiti's bourgeoisie for its fearless reporting and sharp critiques.

That is why in 2011 WikiLeaks chose to give Haiti Liberté secret U.S. diplomatic cables relating to Haiti . We now have a new investigative series based on a new trove of cables in the works.

The price we pay for holding to these principles is periodic cash shortfalls. That is where you come in. We need help to pay for rent, phones, printing, website, shipping, and a few modest salaries to reporters who are still living in earthquake damaged homes. If you’ve helped before, as many have, please help again. If you haven’t helped, now’s the time.
