Southern Comfort Animal Rescue hasn't added a story.
Rocky was found as a stray on Feb 4 after he wandered onto the porch of a Glenwood family. That family quickly noticed Rocky's badly injured front paw, which appeared to have been cut open by some type of animal trap. He was in so much pain that any attempts to help him by the family was met by Rocky being very aggressive towards them. Luckily we were able to get Rocky into a crate and back to SoCo Rescue.
Once at SoCo Rescue, Rocky seemed to sense that we were trying to help him and did allow us to inspect his wound even while remaining in excruciating pain . The cut to the inside of his paw nearly severed his paw and left about an inch wide gash in it. We got Rocky to the vet's office as soon as we could and the vet determined that the best course of action was to amputate his front leg. The vet agreed that the cause of his wound was most likely due to being caught in some sort of trap. While he is under the care of our vet, Rocky will also be neutered and receive an update of his vaccinations.
Please consider making a donation to help us cover Rocky's needed vet and ongoing care, including his surgery. The estimated cost of his care will be $500. Donations can be made through his Fundrazr app, mailed to SoCo Rescue (see below) or taken over the phone if you'd rather provide a credit card number to us.
