What Did You Get From Playing Lorne Park Football?

Whether you learned perseverance, discipline, team work, respect or any other number of invaluable traits from this program, you know that you left a better person as a result of being a part of this team. The life lessons, memories and friendships that are forged by playing Spartan Football are the real reward of the time, effort and sweat equity that players past and present gain. I think many of us would have our own stories of how the program helped shape us.

However, Lorne Park no longer receives public funding for the running and operation of the football team and as you may or may not know, it is an expensive operation to run. Helmets must be recertified or purchased. Pads and jerseys fall into disrepair. Many other teams that we compete against have access to training equipment that Lorne Park does not to help train safely and effectively. 

This is why we have the Lorne Park Football Fund. We ask for your generosity and the generosity of all who have been a part of or experienced Lorne Park Football. Alumni, Family, Friends and anyone who supports this program is asked to give what they can to ensure the continuity of the Football Program and ensure the success and continued excellence that we all expect from this team. 

The LPFF is a non-school sanctioned , third-party organization, managed by Spartan alumni, that will work, in tandem, with the Spartan Football coaching staff to address the teams needs every upcoming season. This year the goal is to raise $25,000, from Spartan alumni, parents of Spartan alumni and Spartan supporters in the Lorne Park community. Any funds raised beyond the fundraising target, will be held in a contingency fund, to address future initiatives related to the success of the Lorne Park Spartan Football Program.

Outside of monetary contributions, another goal is to re-establish an active Spartan Football Alumni Network and keep everyone updated on future events.
