Welcome to the Westside Refugee Response Experience Menu Fundraiser page
G and M are currently in the UAE hoping for a miracle to bring them to Canada so they can start their new lives and a family in peace and safety near their other family members. We want to create that miracle. Their situation is dire. G’s work Visa has been revoked and they are currently facing potential expulsion from the UAE. They can’t go back to Syria, not only because it’s a war zone, but because G faces potential detainment and torture for criticisms he has made of the Al Assad regime. G’s father was held and tortured for one week by the Regime in 2012. He died three weeks later.
If you are thankful for the freedom we enjoy in Canada - the freedom of speech and political discourse being one of the most valuable – and you want to help share the gift of experiencing that freedom, please donate and help us make that a reality.
In turn, we want to give you an experience! We’ve created this menu of experiences offered by our friends and ourselves in appreciation for your generosity. Unfortunately, for almost all but the most basic of them you have to live in the GTA. That being said, if you live, or someone you know lives elsewhere and would like to get involved with an offering of a life experience, please get in touch! We would be so grateful and proud to be able to spread these offerings far and wide. And we will update these offerings if more come in.
