Handsome has heartworm.

Handsome is an older gentleman who ended up at PACC.

Jill lost her rescue dog Zorro recently whom she adopted from CWN a long time ago. I heard about Handsome and asked her if she would be willing to give an older dog a home for his golden years and we met Handsome when he was having an outing at a Loyal Companion.

He is a sweet mellow guy and I told Jill that CWN would help if anything came up.

Jill took Handsome home and he has been a really good boy, her cats never even hid from him, he must just give off a very non threatening vibe.

Jill took Zorro in for his vet exam and a few tests and a few hundred dollars later discovered that Handsome has heartworm.

It is an expensive and long treatment. Fortunately his blood profile shows that he is in decent health otherwise so we would like to save his life. Also since he is older and mellow it should be easy for him to stay quiet.

The estimate is between $1300 and $1600 so we could sure use some help for Mr Handsome and we would sure appreciate it. Acacia Animal Hospital is working on this with us.
