We Rescued Luna from a high-kill shelter in South Carolina 5 years ago... She was a nearly feral young girl, terrified of adults, and so thin that no one realized she was carrying a litter of puppies until days before she gave birth in our home.  Her's was the first puppy-delivery that I had ever assisted with, and somehow I earned her trust through my novice efforts to help her and her babies.  She's been my Baby-Girl ever since, and as she grew in confidence, she learned to trust the rest of our family and our Pack.  As we helped her raise her puppies and find them all good homes, she helped us keep our young sons out of mischief as they grew and toddled about the house. We lost our sons' Husky Princess, Gabriella, last fall, and Luna became depressed and stopped eating for a time... she did the same after our 20 year old Shepherd, Rosko, passed away in December.  She lost some weight, then with plenty of coddling and special meals, she started gaining weight again.  Finally, about 2 weeks ago, she began refusing to eat almost everything we tried, and her weight dropped dramatically.  We brought her to a highly recommended vet in our new neighborhood, and after testing, he found a blockage in her small intestine.  Her surgery was performed on 3/30, and the blockage has been removed successfully.  She is still in critical condition at the vet hospital, and will need to stay there for at least a few more days.  We are hopeful that she will pull through and the vet has her on IV antibiotics, IV nutrition & nausea meds.  She was able to drink a little water and some Vanilla Ensure today on her own and they are monitoring her closely.  We are being told that her bill is currently at $600 and will likely go over $1000 before she is back on her feet an able to come home.  We made a down payment today and are trying to raise funds to help cover the rest of her bills so that she can continue to get the aftercare support she is getting at the Vet Hospital.  If you are able to help with even a small donation to her cause, it would be greatly appreciated by all of us.  Thank you for your Support...
