First of all, thank you so much for your attention and for taking the time to get to know us. We have hit a hurdle in our path that requires us to reach out for support. Though we cant get into details, we hope you will appreciate us being upfront with the nature of what it is we are dealing with. This is the last thing we expected but we currently find ourselves on a tough learning curve. We ask you to take some time with us. Get to know us. There are lots of clickable links within the paragraphs below. We trust that you will find we are far more than just a kombucha company. We brew kombucha for a brighter future.
Back to the Mother is a worker-owned enterprise that goes way beyond Kombucha. As of now, we are a kombucha producer that provides the health-enhancing beverage in the most sustainable package available, on tap and in reusable 12-ounce bottles. We work side by side with Bayern Brewery to make sure our glass bottles can be washed and reused time and time again. This is only the beginning! We also take the cardboard we deliver our product in out of the waste stream to give it another go before being recycled. This lowers the carbon footprint of every bottle enjoyed. Beyond that, we have a collective vision for a future we can all get behind. We developed the Kombucha business from the incubator of the nonprofit side of Back to the Mother. We do, however, need to make it very clear that we are asking for donations specifically for the kombucha project and not for the Nonprofit side. We don't want to confuse anyone with what is going on here. We do, however, want to share the behind the scenes story of our journey. All the information of who we are and how we came to be can be found on our recently revamped website.
And now for the hard part...
We are reaching out in a time of need. Back to the Mother is facing legal action that threatens the continued viability of the collective. We are navigating the threat of dissolution of a project that has been fostered with the purpose of shifting the way we impact our planet.
The learning curve of what we are trying to achieve here has been incredible. We started from the ground up with our Values and our Vision. From there we set out into the world with the intentions to make a real difference within our community. However, not every individual out there will resonate with the same fervor towards the mission we are on as we do. We honor every path and only hope to learn from the lessons being offered through this difficult experience.
The money we raise will go directly to legal fees and costs involved with protecting Back to the Mother. Back to the Mother is hopeful that the matter will be resolved efficiently and amicably so we can continue on our mission of making a real difference in our community. Any remaining funds will go towards setting up grants for local startups and nonprofits that share our vision of the future. Some of the early nominations are Free Cycles, Precious Plastics Missoula, Soil Cycle, Missoula Food Bank as well as the projects being incubated by the Mother Circle. Each donation will go towards saving BTTM or to building community in the spirit of a brighter more sustainable future for us all.
This entire project has been bootstrapped since its inception in 2013, but is in need of your support! Even if it means simply sharing our campaign online, it means so much! Whatever you can offer, it will be honored and go towards a cause you can feel good about. Even if its $5, every bit helps.
We know our cause is strong. We wouldn't reach out if we didn't believe in what we are doing. We are simply trying to protect Back to the Mother and its values and vision.
