The whistle blows, but the ground is already winning.

In Kaberamaido, the sun is a heavy weight. During our last Pamoja Youth Tournament, we watched 400 young souls transform a dusty field into a stage of dreams. But look closer at the ground, and the inspiration turns to a quiet, stinging tragedy.

The Price of Passion.

You might have seen young kids pouring water over their feet. Their  plastic shoes don't breathe, they bake. In the 35°C heat, those shoes become ovens, searing skin until the pain is too much to bear. They pour water just to buy five more minutes of play.

 Others played barefoot, their skin toughened by necessity but no match for the scorching earth. Some wore their only pair of school shoes (the ones they need to walk miles in the next morning), watching the soles flap and tear with every sprint.

Yet, they didn't stop. Not once.

They played through the blisters. They played through the heat. They showed up because, for these kids, the Pamoja Tournament is more than a competition, it is the one place where they are seen, where their talent speaks louder than their poverty, and where they can carry their heads with pride.

We are asking you to stand between them and the burning ground.

Our goal is $1,500. This isn’t for trophies or jerseys. This is for 200 pairs of quality, secondhand boots and sports shoes. We want to ensure that the next time a child in Kaberamaido steps onto that pitch, the only thing they feel is the ball at their feet and the wind at their back, not the sting of the earth.

How You Can Get Involved;

Instead of just "donating," we want you to see the child you are protecting.

• The "Relief" Gift ($7.50) One Child’s Dignity. Stop the ground burning the feet for one player. Give them a pair of sturdy shoes that protect their feet from the heat and the thorns.

• The "Midfield Engine" ($37.50) 5 Pairs of Protection. You are kitting out the heart of a team. Five kids who can now sprint, tackle, and pivot without the fear of their shoes melting or tearing.

• The "Pamoja Squad" ($90.00) 12 Pairs of Hope. You’ve just equipped an entire team and their substitutes. You’ve given a local coach the ability to tell 12 kids: "Your feet are safe. Now, go play."

• The "Tournament Guardian" ($250.00) 33+ Pairs. This is a transformation. You are single-handedly ensuring that an entire age bracket of our tournament competes with safety, comfort, and the equipment their talent deserves.
