I Was Kicked Out for Being Gay. I Just Need a Chance to Start Over.

One Bridge

Hey — my name’s Liam. I’m 19, and a few weeks ago, my family found out I’m gay. I always kind of knew it would go badly, but I still hoped I was wrong. I wasn’t.

As soon as they found out, I was told to leave. No conversation, no warning. Just a few minutes to grab a backpack and go. I didn’t have a plan, or anywhere to stay. The first night I slept in a bus terminal. After that, I ended up crashing on the couch of someone a friend connected me with. I’ve been there since.

I’m trying to get by — picking up dishwashing shifts wherever I can — but it’s not enough to actually move forward. I’m not asking for charity. I just need some help getting through this stretch so I don’t end up on the street.

I’ve found a small room I can rent. It’s not much, but it’s safe. I’ve also looked into enrolling in a short tech program. I’m trying to put a plan together, but I can’t even think straight when I don’t know where I’m sleeping next week.

This fundraiser is to help cover a few months of rent, food, and basic stuff like a mattress, some clothes, and maybe a few therapy sessions. The goal is $2,500, which would give me time to stabilize and figure out my next steps without falling deeper into survival mode.

If you’ve ever been in a place where you needed a fresh start… or if you just believe that people deserve safety and dignity for being who they are… thank you for even reading this.

If you can help — with a donation or just by sharing the campaign — it truly means more than I can explain.

Will you cover the processing fees for the cause?

It's a fact of life: Credit card companies and online payment processors take a cut from every transaction. FundRazr gives you the option to cover those fees so that One Bridge gets the full benefit you intended.
