CONGRESS IS BROKEN. Today’s legislative branch, far from the model envisioned by the founders, is dominated by party leaders and functions as a junior partner to the executive. It has been replaced by a weakened legislative branch in which debate is strictly curtailed, party leaders dictate the agenda, most elected representatives rarely get a say. Government shutdowns are a regular threat due to chronic failures to agree on budgets sparked by the hyperpolarized climate that has enveloped politics.

I'm Mark Richardson, a decorated United States Navy Veteran. I've already stepped forward when our nation needed me and have already pledged an oath to support and defend the Constitution by putting the country's interest ahead of my own.  By serving as an elected official, I will be honoring that lifelong oath by answering the call to serve again. I am humbled and very excited to announce that I am running and endorsed as the Republican in the 2020 election for the US House of Representatives representing Ohio's 3rd Congressional District. 

 It’s imperative that I start fundraising now. My opponent Joyce Beatty is a radical, get nothing done politician and already has over 1.7 million in her campaign surplus. Any contribution, large or small, will help me build my base. For that reason alone, I have been encouraged by the Veteran group and the GOP members to start my campaign early.
