The Passamaquoddy community of Sipayik, Pleasant Point will host  Maine Inside Out for two and a half days of skill-building and cultural exchange. MIO members will lead a creative workshop focused on using theatre and storytelling as tools for social change, and share a public performance of MIO's recent touring play, Unspoken Truth.  This gathering will connect MIO youth artists and organizers from Southern and Central Maine with native youth. Sipayik is the most eastern tribal reservation in the United States, located on the shores of Passamaquoddy Bay. The Wabanaki people ( "People of the Dawn") have inhabited the area for more than 14,000 years.

This workshop and performance is a collaborative effort between Maine Inside Out, Maine-Wabanaki REACH, AFSC Wabanaki Youth Program and other community helpers, like you.
Maine-Wabanaki REACH is a non-profit organization working toward truth, healing, and change in the Dawnland.  American Friends Service Committee Wabanaki Youth Program supports Wabanaki youth in leadership, service, and community building.
