I am announcing my intent to run for Mayor of Alamogordo, NM in the March, 2018 election. Our city has essentially shut you out of any participation in how things are done, I will ensure that your voice will be heard!

I am hereby announcing my intent to run for Mayor of Alamogordo, NM in the March, 2018 election, and I need YOUR help!  Because only with YOU, can I make a difference!

IMPORTANT NOTICE! DUE TO THE FINANCE RULES FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS IN ALAMOGORDO, NM ANY DONATION OVER $25 MAY NOT BE LISTED AS ANONYMOUS ON MY CAMPAIGN FINANCE DISCLOSURES TO THE CITY.   Personally I much prefer named donations, but there are those that due to personal or job related issues feel that they should not be identified. I understand that. But I would rather that you stand with me so I can stand for you.  If I can't list you as a named donor on those forms, I will donate any money above the legal limit to one of our local charities, or return it to you.  I am VERY grateful for you belief in me, but I must comply with all the rules.  Please contact me directly with any questions, and thank you for your donation!

Now as far as why I'm running, the primary reason is that the current commissions rules for public comment only allow the public to speak for 3 minutes and specifically does not permit City Staff or City Commissioners to respond to any comment or question asked.

This is YOUR city; your City Staff and more importantly, your elected officials, all work for YOU. Whether you voted or not, you are a resident of this community and your concerns must be acknowledged and addressed.

The bottom-line is this, I'm not really looking for you to "elect" me. I am going to spend the next two months showing you my resume and asking you to hire me to work for you as Mayor of Alamogordo. I promise to never forget who I work for and encourage you to remind me if you ever think I've forgotten that.

One of the 1st things you can do to help is donate.  My other opponents are likely to be funded very well, I'm going to have to scratch for every dime.  That's the bad news.  The good news is that I don't expect to need much.  Any money you donate will go to social media ads, some radio spots, yard signs, and one or two ads in the paper.  I hope that this race costs less than $5K, Last time I think I spent about $7K.  But with the low cost of social media advertising, I can probably keep the costs low.

How much do I need from you? $1 will help, $5 is better, $10 is the most I want to ask for.  If you choose to donate more I will sincerely appreciate it, but this campaign will be run by regular folks, working regular jobs, with regular money.  If everyone donated a small amount, then the pot will get very big very quickly.  If 100 folks donated $10, that would be $1000 in a heartbeat.  And that's how I intend to finance this run for Mayor.

So please consider a small donation to get this rolling.  Literally every little bit helps!  I wish you all a very Happy New Years and pray that you get everything you need and some of what you want in the new year. May God bless you, May God bless Alamogordo, Otero County, and the Great State of New Mexico, and of course, May God Bless these United States of America! -- Chez, OUT! HUA!!
