Hello, I'm Woody, a 7-year-young yellow Labrador Retriever. I'm a really good boy, but something very terrible happened to me. I was neglected and abandoned by the people who were supposed to care for me. During the month or more I was alone, I developed several life threatening medical issues: Extreme weight loss, inability to chew food due to muscle atrophy, kennel cough, intestinal worms of all types, and heartworms.

Fortunately, I was taken in by a rescue group called The Labrador Connection or TLC. If anyone needed some TLC, it was me! Now, I'm in a foster home where I am loved and doted upon. I have been to visit the doctor many times and the people around me are trying to help me regain some weight, but I'm having a hard time getting to where I need to be. I startd at 44 lbs and now am up to 50, but that's still not enough. My foster family hand feeds me 4 cans of a special prescription food every day and I get lots of yummy treats, but I just can't keep on the weight. Now we're going to try to add some medication and an extra can of food per day to see if that will do the trick.

The prescription food is very expensive and now I'll be getting 3 cases of it every week. I'm so very grateful that I can have this yummy food, but I worry about how expensive it is. TLC is a small non-profit 501(c)3 rescue group serving Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Each penny is streched very far and I'm hoping to raise some money to help myself.

If we can raise $750, that will pay for all of my food until Christmas! What a great gift! If we're lucky enough to raise a little more, that will help with my other medical expenses.
