The Terapia Craneosacral Ecuador Collective proudly presents this campaign to empower Andean Kichwa midwives in Ecuador by weaving the profound insights of pre and perinatal psychology into their sacred practice. Together, we can ensure that every birth is a gentle, loving, and sacred welcome into this world.
-
Who we are
The Craneosacral Ecuador Collective, start its formation around 2009 by Janet Evergreen, when she came to Ecuador and start to support the INEPE school with craneosacral knowledge. We are a network of craniosacral therapists dedicated to holistic healing. Today, we’ve partnered with the Unanchu Mamakuna School of Ancestral Midwifery, led by indigenous Kichwa women from the Cotacachi communities, to honor and protect traditional birth wisdom.
-
The Need
One of the training options available for the collective is a two-year Pre- and Perinatal Psychology (PPNP) training program developed by Myrna Martin and facilitated by Janet Evergreen. However, many local therapists and midwives cannot access this transformative knowledge due to language barriers (the program is in English) and financial limitations.
Recognizing the profound synergy and complementary value between ancestral Kichwa midwifery and PPNP, we reached out to Unanchu Mamakuna. Together, we envisioned a bridge between western science and Indigenous wisdom—but we need your help to overcome these limitations.
-
Our plan.
With your support, this campaign will fund:
✅Translation of Myrna Martin’s Pre- and Perinatal Psychology Program into Spanish.
✅ Localized updates, adapting research and data to Ecuador’s cultural context.
✅ Six workshops for Unanchu Mamakuna midwives, covering PPNP foundations and trauma-informed birth practices.
✅ Multimedia materials documenting this historic dialogue between PPNP and Kichwa midwifery, preserving wisdom for future generations.
- Rewards
🎁 Access to the Multimedia materials documenting this historic dialogue between PPNP and Kichwa midwifery.
-
Together we can do it! And we go for more!.
We trust in your power to be a positive change maker! Your contribution will kickstart a process that will create the materials to find more collaboration to enable ancestral midwives to do the hole program!
❤️ Every donation—big or small—fuels this movement. If you can’t give financially, sharing this campaign is just as powerful. Also you can contribute by helpiing the translation team.

"Attachment is so important because this relation supports the baby/toddler to develop the ability to regulate her emotions, learn strategies for coping with stress, and form the pattern for being in relationships for the rest on her live... it could be called the cycle of the soul or of love .. begins in utero ... is further strenghtened when the birth process is optimal." - Myrna Martin (Birth and attachment).
A special thanks to Myrna Martin for her generosity in sharing her knowledge that has been developed for many years of working with families to achieve deep health. More about Myrna in https://myrnamartin.net/
