The 3rd Gen Project is an extensive program to commemorate Holocaust survival stories through staged art. Each show will be based on actual events and experiences as told by the survivors themselves, and will contain personal interviews and recordings, putting voice and face behind each story.
The program originated from the grandparents of the 3rd Gen creator and artistic director, Shany Dagan, and features other stories contributed by those who shared their family stories.
The first 3rd Gen piece was developed and presented in November 2023 in New York City at SPARK - Emerging Artists Festival.
In November 2024, the piece had a successful off-Broadway premiere (KnJ theatre), followed by an exceptional performance on International Remembrance Day in 2025 that marked 80 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz extermination camp.
It is now featured at known establishments in the New York region and throughout the United States, and Its newest performance, SHEVA, telling the story of Zvi Harry Likwornik, is making waves.
