Taco update 1/8/21!

As you all know, last weekend Taco was taken to two different ER vets due to appearing to be uncomfortable and having difficulty breathing. While at the vet, they did xrays and bloodwork. The bloodwork showed extremely high liver levels and xrays showed calcification on the liver and a lung pattern consistent with bronchial asthma. They wanted to do an ultrasound of the liver and lungs to have a better idea of what is going on and that was scheduled for yesterday. Since the weekend, Taco as had several attacks which appear to be asthma-like attacks. Yesterday during the ultrasound they found that Taco's gallbladder is not functioning correctly (there is of course a very long and technical name for this, however I can not remember it right this second) this can be managed with medications (YAY!!). The lungs did not show anything remarkable and the vet decided that she would need to scope his throat, esophagus, etc., after hours of biting our nails and extreme anxiety we got the call from the vet with the results...Taco has Laryngial paralysis this is normaly found in large breed dogs NOT little 6 lb nuggets.... the vet went on to tell me that essentaily he is trying to breath through a small slit... the vet went on to say that she sent her findings to the surgeon to see if that is a option as Taco is proving to be a very unique little boy.. The surgeon said surgery is definiely a option for Taco and that it would improve his quality of life greatly, our other only option is euthanasia. The surgery is going to be $3-4000..... Yes, I am still trying to pick my jaw up of the floor as well... I see this little vibrant soul in front of me with so much life in him.... he dances, he plays, he cuddles and just wants to be loved.. I have told this little guy so many times that we are going to figure this out and fix it and now we have the answers, but financially how are we going to pull this off.... how can i walk into a room with him one last time and look into those adorable little eyes and tell him we figured it out and it can be fixed, but we dont have the funds to fix it... I can't..... we can't.. We are begging for your help to make this happen. Taco deserves this chance at happiness.. We committed to him to give him a better life and thats what we are going to work our butts off to give him. I am personally going to put up $500 towards his surgery, if i had more to give it would be his in a heartbeat, but at this time thats all I have. We are begging for your help to make this happen for him. The surgery will need to be done as soon as possible as we dont want him to continue to struggle to breath. It is scheduled for their first availability on Wed., 1/13/21...he is being slightly sedated until then to allow him to be able to breathe. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us help him!!!
