Hello there! 

I'm Rock N Roll, the cofounder of the California branch of the Initiative.

Why the weird name? And what's the "Initiative"?

Rock N Roll is my Real Life Superhero (RLSH) name and the Initiative is an international group of people who I like to call "Good Samaritans on steroids." With 9 branches across the United States and in Europe, the Initiative is made up of people just like you who are committed to serving their communities. We clean up neighborhoods, teach free self-defense seminars, organize neighborhood watch patrols, pick up used needles, and we feed and clothe those experiencing homelessness in our areas. We've been at it for over five years now and have appeared in countless news articles, TV, books and movies. 

What is "Project HOPE SF"?

Project HOPE SF is our innagural homeless outreach event and we could use your help. Everything we do is funded out of our own pockets and we only ask for assistance when the need exceed our own funds. Project HOPE began in 2011 in San Diego and has taken place each year, with volunteers collecting, sorting and gathering items to help a minimum of 200 people per outreach. To date, we've passed out thousands of backpacks filled with items to sustain our less fortunate friends as they struggle to survive on the streets. RLSH from all over the country gather together to put on this event every July, during Comic Con weekend. 

Why do we do this in costume? 

We wear costumes to draw attention to our causes. I've worked in soup kitchens for years, and no one wants to join you or shows any interest until you show up in a costume. 
Also, Project HOPE began as a way to show the homeless camps in San Diego that not every costumed person was going to just walk on by during Comic Con weekend. WE WELCOME YOU TO GRAB A CAPE AND HELP US OUT! 

We can't do this without a little help from our friends. Please drop us a few dollars, or just share this fundraiser. We are also looking for volunteers to help us with the sorting and distribution on the day of the event. There is a group photo shoot for all superheroes, following the outreach. Details TBA. If you've helped us to help others, we would love it if you were in the shot!

We all know how bad things can be out there. This is why we're also out there - - to bring some balance and some HOPE.
