Wow, is our little homeless union learning a lot about fundraising! Since we began this project to provide our sisters with a camper van to replace the one destroyed by the city, we've:
- lost our fiscal sponsorship, so our ability to write grants and provide tax incentives
- lost our pledged dollar-matcher (good luck on those charges, bb ✊)
- received one beautiful donation of a soon-to-be-running 2000 Ford E350, already built out with bed, desk, heater, and much more!
- been given an exciting new deadline by the HOA where the van is being stored
Luckily, we're too used to being the underdog to let anything dampen our DIY spirit! Literally dozens of comrades have had a hand in getting this far through either material support or their labor, and we already know that communities that work together can do anything we put our mind to. That's why we're updating our request to reflect our most urgent needs - a charged battery, the tools and parts to unclog the fuel system, a new tire to replace the one that popped on its last tow, and eventually, a windshield to replace the one that's spiderwebbing in front of the driver's seat.
With your help, we were able to sidestep threats from our comrade's homeowners' association, and tow the van to a new location!! We humbly beg our community's support to finish this project, whether that’s by sharing this fundraiser as far as you can or chipping in anything you may have to spare.
