The Furry Paws Foundation, Inc. hasn't added a story.
There was a last minute change to the passenger list.
Late Thursday night, the 17th, Princess Pyewacket asked Homer if he would be willing to give up his seat and go at a later date so she could be with her brother, Squire Binx.
Homer being the true southern gentlemen that he is, was more than pleased to accommodate her request. Hence, Princess Pyewacket along with her birth brother, Squire Binx, and her adopted younger brother, Prince Hank have made the 903 mile, 22 hour journey to https://www.facebook.com/groups/cwshelter/, arriving at this wonderful facility on Saturday, the 19th, of May shortly before noon.
All have checked in and are from reports from the facility's staff, doing will and adjusting to their new forever home.

Update: We have reached our goal of $4,500 to cover the cost of admission into Rustic Hollow and want to thank all those who contributed to this cause. That said, we could still use a few extra dollars to help offset the estimated $775 for their transport. This will be a 900 mile journey that will start at 1pm on May 18th in Garland, TX and end Saturday morning, May 19th at Rustic Hollow. But, that's not the end. Our transport team, will after a short rest, make the same 900 mile journey in reverse to get back home.
Any amount from $1, $5, $10 or more will be greatly appreciated.

"A Tale of Two Kitties"
“What greater gift than the love of a cat?”- Charles Dickens
It was almost three years ago. I was a young kitty then. Cages, bad smells, loud noises, and loneliness--it was the worst of times. A city animal shelter is no place for a kitten on his own. The Furry Paws Foundation rescued me; a year later they brought me my best buddy, Prince Hank. Friends, laser pointers, strings, soda straws, and dreams of a forever home—it was the best of times.
Lately, the hard times are back.
My health isn’t what it should be, and it causes me to do things. People get upset. Can I help it? No. Hank helps me through it all, even with his own worries and troubles. We're okay as long as we have each other. Those other cats—whew! They're a tough crowd.
Now people say we’re “adoption-challenged” and it makes finding a forever home hard.
I heard though that good times are on the horizon. There's a sanctuary called Rustic Hollow and man, from the pictures I’ve seen, it’s just the spot for Hank and me. Their mission: To give adoption-challenged kitties like us a ‘chance at a lifetime.’
I’ll tell you--a lifetime sounds mighty fine to Hank and me.
But life is long, and there are over 800 miles between the Furry Paws Foundation and Rustic Hollow. As you know, we kitties like our independence. We don’t ask for much. But we’re asking now. Can you help me and Hank make it to our new home? Will you help this tale have a happy ending and give us a chance at a lifetime without worries?

"And Then There Was Three"
Last July the Furry Paws
Foundation rescued a kitty name Homer from a local Home Depot at
the request of management. He was wait listed for transport to
Rustic Hollow for Sep 2017. On Sep 12th, 2017 Homers transport
was put on hold. The following post was added to his
fundraiser page:
"In light of recent events with Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the transport of Homer to Rustic Hollow on Sep 22, 2017, has been rescheduled for mid spring of 2018 to allow all pledged funds, resources, and support for his transport to be redirected to rescues effected by said events.
In the interim, Homer now has full supervised access to all of Funk Manor and it's resident fosters. It was 2 months ago on this date, July 12th, when Homer first came to Funk Manor.
FYI: Homer is available for adoption. If interested, please contact us via his email Homer@TheFurryPawsFoundation.org via a pm, or comment to this posting."
================================================================
After having discussions with the staff of The Furry Paws Foundation and Rustic Hollow management, Homer will now join Binx and Hank at Rustic Hollow, traveling with them on their transport scheduled for late May of this year. The $250 already raised will be used to cover part of his entry fee of $1,500. Any additional funds raised via this fundraiser over and above the original amount needed, will go to cover the balance of his fees. Homer, Binx, and Hank get along great with each other and will do well once settled in. What is really super is since they already know each other, the stress on Homer will be less than that of being not only in a strange place, but surrounded by strange kitties and smells he does not recognize.

See notation at top of story for a change in passenger list
Homer is still at Funk Manor and will not be traveling to Rustic Hollow at this time.

Homer's Story
Hi, My name is Homer. I'm a 16 to 18 month old male Mackerel
Tabby Domestic Short Hair that was rescued on Jul 12th from a Home
Depot. I need your help to help my foster, "The Furry Paws
Foundation, Inc." to cover my vet/foster/transport costs while
they get me ready for transport to Rustic Hollow in late May of
2018. I will be traveling with Squire Binx & Prince Hank, my
two adopted foster brothers.
We have become close to each other and we are known as ...
"The Three MuskaKittyTeers"
Around Jan or Feb of 2017, or perhaps earlier, according to
store staff, I made the Home Depot store in Mesquite, TX my home.
On Saturday, July 8th, store management, being concerned for my safety and well being, reached out to The Furry Paws & Kylie Jean Pet Sanctuary to take me to safety and to help me find a proper forever home.
Link to a video of Me at the Home Depot a few days before I was rescued.
Link to a video of Kathy Dixen, a local volunteer that helped rescue me, giving me cuddles while I settle in at the Furry Paws foster facility.
Link to a video of me exploring Funk Manor for the first time after being granted full access.
A link to a video of me begging Lady Carol for some cuddles
After the store closed on July 12th, they gave me a ride to their foster facility in Garland, TX, where I currently live in foster care along with 6 other fosters. Initially, I had a large 13' x 4' private suite complete with a large 8' x 2' bay window all to myself where my day to day needs are tended to by Lady Carol. When Lady Carol is in the Arts Center, she lets me out to visit with her. The Arts Center itself is a 13' x 22' room. Lady Carol spent most of the day and evening at her desk right next to my suite, chatting with me throughout the day. We watched TV, played computer games, and listened to music.
She even set up a radio with some nice music to listen to at
night when I was sleep. And from time to time, I g9t supervised
play dates with Sir Harry, a male foster kitty my own age. We had
loads of fun. During the day I liked to nap up on the top shelf
in my private suite keeping the bay window in full view.
When Willie, Lady Carol's mate, took me to the vet on July
13th. He made sure I received a full checkup, flea treatment,
complete battery of tests, all of which were negative, all of my
vaccinations, neuter surgery and a Microchip from Home Again. I'm
in excellent health according to their vet. I was there for 5
days while the vet took great care to make sure I was good to go
while the staff at Funk Manor prepared my suite. Willie picked me
up on July 17th, and transported me to Funk Manor where I have
been since.
Sometime around October, don't recall the exact date, I was given full access to the main area and back catio Funk Manor, where I have been since.
The Furry Paws Foundation is taking care of my financial needs that includes but not limited to, a vet bill totaling $349.85, plus an additional $128.19 for improvements to my suite. They will continue to have additional costs to cover things like food, laundry, litter, treats, toys, etc. This is in addition to the other 6 fosters they currently care for.
When I go to Rustic Hollow in May, the foundation will have the additional cost of the one time $1,500 fee for my admission over and above the amount set for this fundraiser. I already have $250 in donations raised from my original fundraiser which has since been closed.
Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated.
It matters not if it's $1, $5, or more. It all adds up.
Please reach into your pocket and help them make this happen. I
will remember you forever. They are super nice care givers and love
me a lot and are working hard to help me with my social skills so I
can eventually find a loving forever home.
