Ralphy’s Retreat is a registered not for profit animal sanctuary in Ontario, Canada. We are dedicated to helping pot-bellied pigs in need. The pot-bellied pig problem continues to grow in Canada and all over North America fuelled by the ‘tea-cup’ pig myth and by-laws restricting pig ownership. About 90% of the pot-bellied pigs we are asked to help are not spayed or neutered. Spaying and neutering is important for the long-term health of the pig; for quality of life; and most importantly to prevent further over-population of pot-bellied pigs by breeding.
At Ralphy’s Retreat we are committed to spaying and neutering all pigs that come into our care (who are physically able to survive the surgery) and we only adopted out fixed pigs. We also provide funding for spays and neuters to other rescue groups.
In recent months, we have helped close to 20 pigs with spay and neuter surgeries and our funds are seriously depleted. Please help us to spay and neuter more pigs in need so they can find wonderful, loving homes where they won’t be breeding machines.
