NAIM's 11 Toughest

“Everyone loves a winner!” It’s a maxim for everything…business, sport, career, politics - life in general.

As a kid I loved winners…from the Montreal Canadiens to Sugar Ray Leonard.  I still love winners.  Two years ago, the Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVII and I went nuts.

There’s something stronger than winning…emotionally, relationally and spiritually.

Christ modeled for us a different version of winning.  As believers, we are called to this type of life.

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” (1 Corinthians 9:24-25)

June 18, eleven of us are running the Tough Mudder at Whistler, BC.

Tough Mudder is an 11 mile endurance event with military-style obstacle courses.  It tests mental and physical strength.  The obstacles often play on common human fears, such as fire, water, electricity and heights.  The main principle of the Tough Mudder revolves around teamwork.

Most of us are in full-time ministry.  We come from the Canadian Prairies, Southern California and British Columbia and range in age from 20 to 64.  We are raising money for personal ministries AND each dollar raised will be matched (up to $15,000) and designated for NAIM’s First Nation Partnership.

RSR

The First Nation Partnership empowers and assists First Nations workers into Indigenous communities and the world.  Western believers have resources. First Nations people have credibility. We each add to this partnership.

The grant will help the St'at'imc Christian Youth Group from Lillooet, BC on a youth trip in July to New York.  The St’at’imc youth will be helping Perth Bible church run a weeklong program for inner city kids from Amsterdam…the poorest city in New York State.

The grant will help send NAIM’s Recruiting Director, Temera Millar, to the Lausanne Young Leaders Gathering this August in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Temera is the only First Nations person that will be attending this event.  Occurring once a generation, this event will gather 1,000 younger leaders from over 160 countries who will connect, pray, and discern together God’s leading of their generation for his global mission.

Can you spare two minutes to save the world?

OK, two minutes might not be enough for that. But it's plenty of time for you to personalize and share a copy of our campaign.

Together we can do some good for this cause. And it won't cost you a penny—just a few minutes of your time.

Yes, I'll do it!
