Our Mission:
The mission of the Latino Center of Art and Culture is to foster artistic, economic and cultural development of the Sacramento region's Latinx community by presenting, exhibiting, and providing excellent artistic programs and services to Latinx artists, organizations and families. In this way, we actively seek social justice for marginalized and underrepresented Sacramento communities.
About the Zine Fest
We're enthusiastic to share with you our first Zine Fest at the
Latino Center of Art and Culture! It's to happen on
Sunday, May 19th
at
2700 Front St.
in Sacramento. The programming runs from
11-5pm. The
LCAC Zine Fest
will be a one-day event focusing on accessible art for the
people and the culture surrounding these communities. It will be a
comprehensive event where commerce is one of multiple forms of
engagement; an event that foregrounds creativity, sharing, and
community building.
Uplifting Artists
Part of supporting artists means uplifting their work. At the Latino Center, we believe in the importance of space. Artists need space to showcase their work and for the ZineFest we will be providing tables for artists at an accessible sliding-scale fee. Accessibility is important for our community. The Latino Center strives to make our events as affordable as possible with the Zine Fest entry being completely free. But we need your help to ensure we can provide artists and community members with the support and experience to create a community-centered event where we can all come together to read, learn and share space.
