Hey Everybody…Little River Band would like to introduce you to Harvey the Hurricane Hawk!

This awesome creature was found in a cab…and he refused to leave it as Hurricane Harvey approached Houston. Turns out he has an injury and couldn’t continue to fly in the wind and rain bands as they rolled into the city. So he took shelter in the taxi. Watch this video…

He’s now in the hands of workers from the TWRC Wildlife Center…but they can’t get him to the doctors at the center for treatment because all the roads are flooded and closed. But he’s safe for now.

Hoot (Little River Band Fan Club Mascot) is looking for help with Harvey…and all the other pets and wildlife that will be displaced as the TX flooding continues. So LRB has set up a fundraiser at this link…fundrazr.com. The band is scheduled to play in the Houston area on Sept 10…and we’d love to hand the TWRC a big fat check to help cover their costs.

Please consider donating to TWRC. They are expecting a huge influx of both domestic and wildlife animals as soon as the roads allow people to get to the center. The professionals and volunteers there are unsung heroes that care for the most helpless of us all…our beloved pets and animals.

As the waters recede, the comfort our four-legged family members can provide is invaluable. Please help TWRC rescue and shelter them.

They are expecting an influx of both domestic and wildlife animals as soon as people can start getting to the center.  They are going to need all the financial help they can get.  Please consider giving to this fund raiser.  Little River Band is going to be in Texas in a few weeks and it would be great to give them a nice size check.  These type of places are the unsung heroes that care for the most helpless of all of us, the animals. 

UPDATE ON HARVEY!! 

UPDATE:  This update is from the Director of the Wildlife Center.  

TWRC Wildlife Center in Houston is continuing to get many animals displaced by Hurricane Harvey. They are examined for injuries, treated and being cared for until they can be released back to the wild. Since this is baby squirrel season in Houston, we are normally very busy with babies but because of the storm, our admissions of baby squirrels have more than doubled. With this unexpected increase, additional funding is needed and appreciated.

TWRC Wildlife Center is a 38-year-old non-profit that rehabilitates injured and orphaned wildlife. We also act as a resource for the public when they have wildlife questions. 

HARVEY THE HURRICANE HAWK is now in the hands of BLACKLAND PRAIRIE RAPTOR CENTER for her final rehab before she is released back into the wild. We are continuing to collect funds for the TWRC WILDLIFE CENTER in Houston.
