8 years of the struggle for Justice for Daphne
At 3pm on 16 October 2017, Daphne Caruana Galizia was killed by a car bomb outside her home. Her life was taken away because she dedicated it to speaking truth to power. Her work as a journalist exposed and documented Malta’s capture at the hands of organised crime and corruption. Repubblika and #occupyjustice will mark 8 years since that dark day, renewing our commitment to truth and justice.

Over these years we have tried to follow Daphne’s example. We have stood firm against corruption, resisted the campaigns of intimidation, and kept alive her call that “the fight against corruption and the decimation of the rule of law must continue.”
The events of this October are not just memorials. They are a renewal of that fight.
