The Stebbins & Condon-Krieger Scholarship Fund

Because every child deserves a safe place to belong.

Long before Three Pillars Learning Group existed, two extraordinary educators changed the course of one young girl's life.

Today, their legacy lives on by helping children and teens access life-changing educational opportunities, mentorship, and a community that believes in them.

The Stebbins & Condon-Krieger Scholarship Fund was established by Michelle Gonzalez, founder of Three Pillars Learning Group, to honor two extraordinary educators from the Onteora Central School District in Boiceville, New York— Julie Stebbins , a longtime school psychologist, and Janet E. Condon-Krieger , a dedicated school counselor—whose compassion, advocacy, and unwavering belief forever changed the course of one student's life.

Michelle first met Julie as an elementary school student. Some of her fondest memories are of sitting in Julie's office, playing games while talking about whatever was happening in her life. Julie had a calm, reassuring presence that somehow made even the heaviest burdens feel lighter. After the death of Michelle's mother, and later throughout her father's illness and passing, Julie became far more than a school psychologist. She became a steady source of comfort, encouragement, and hope—not only for Michelle, but also for her siblings and grandparents. She reminded an entire family that they were not alone.

When Michelle entered high school, Julie had transferred there and continued to be a trusted source of support. Michelle would stop by simply to talk about life, friendships, family, or whatever was weighing on her heart. Julie never made her feel like a problem to solve. She made her feel safe, heard, and valued.

At the same time, Michelle found another extraordinary advocate in her school counselor, Janet E. Condon-Krieger. While Janet certainly helped students navigate graduation requirements, her impact reached far beyond schedules and credits. Whenever life outside of school became overwhelming, Janet's office became another place of refuge. She listened without judgment, encouraged without hesitation, and reminded Michelle that she was capable of accomplishing more than she believed possible.

During one of the darkest periods of Michelle's life, as she battled severe depression and seriously considered leaving high school to pursue a GED instead of a diploma, Julie and Janet worked together to support her. They did far more than offer encouragement. Together, they quietly connected Michelle's family with resources throughout the school district and Hudson Valley community, coordinating support behind the scenes so the family never had to face overwhelming challenges alone. They believed in Michelle's future even when she struggled to believe in it herself.

Because two educators chose to invest in one young person with extraordinary compassion, Michelle graduated from high school, became an educator, and eventually founded Three Pillars Learning Group.

Today, the mission of Three Pillars Learning Group reflects the very values Julie and Janet demonstrated every day: creating a place where children and teens are known, encouraged, challenged, and supported as whole people—not simply as students.

The Stebbins & Condon-Krieger Scholarship Fund exists to carry that legacy forward.

Its purpose is simple, yet profound: to ensure that financial hardship never prevents a child or teen from accessing life-changing educational opportunities, meaningful mentorship, and a community that believes in them.

Scholarships may provide access to academic coaching, enrichment programs, leadership experiences, social-emotional learning opportunities, summer programs, and future offerings through Three Pillars Learning Group. More importantly, they provide access to a place where young people are encouraged to discover their strengths, build confidence, develop resilience, and know they belong.

Every scholarship awarded is more than financial assistance.

It is a family saying, "We want our child to have this opportunity."

It is a donor saying, "I believe every child deserves someone in their corner."

It is a community coming together to ensure that hope is never limited by financial circumstances.

And it is a continuation of the legacy Julie Stebbins and Janet E. Condon-Krieger began decades ago—one conversation, one act of kindness, and one child at a time.

At Three Pillars Learning Group, we believe every young person deserves clarity, confidence, and community.

Long before those became the guiding pillars of our organization, Julie and Janet were living them every day.

This scholarship fund is our promise to the next generation that they will never have to walk alone.

Because when one caring adult believes in a child, a life can change. When an entire community chooses to believe in children, generations can change. Every contribution to the Stebbins & Condon-Krieger Scholarship Fund helps ensure that another child has access to the same kind of unwavering support that changed one life—and now has the opportunity to change countless others.
