4 1/2 years ago I was feeding 3 adult sterilized cats from my neighborhood then an irresponsible cat owner moved in. His Queen started bringing the first litter to eat with my regulars. A few months later I was still feeding them and she gifted me with a second litter to manage. With the 3rd litter, enough was enough. I had alreadyfixed, vaccinated and released the previous kittens under a grant by Petsmart Charities to the local low cost spay and neuter clinic, P.E.T.S. Finally using a large dog crate, wet cat food, a surveilance camera and a piece of paracord running under my door, I got Momma Cat and got her fixed. (My colony went from 3 to 17 regulars.

That showed me how fast unmanaged cats can multiply so I put out the word that if any of my friends needed help getting a colony under control, I had time and a few humane traps and PETS was still working under their grant. They told their friends who told their friends etc and Catmando-TNVR was born 268 trapped cats later I am still working with the help of a little public support and my fixed income.Fuel to get to trap sites and the clinic, bait, equipment repair and replacement and improvements. Currently I am needing an outdoor cattery for cats who were trapped to young for surgery who tamed down too much to release but not quite enough to adopt out which are still being worked with and to replace older traps which are harder to work with due to age and low quality. and better recovery cages for the sick cats I catch and work to nurse back to health so they can have a chance to return to duty helping keep the rodent population down.
