I am Samantha Thornhill—creative entrepreneur & CEO of Samantha Speaks LLC. I am a poet, author, educator & consultant from Trinidad & Tobago & the USA. A single mama of two sons, I invite you to support my vision to co-create a mama village.

A survivor and single mother of five and 10 year old sons, I know firsthand the unfair weight that many unsupported single parents carry—daring to heal and pursue creative and entrepreneurial dreams while cultivating resilient children.

 
Presently, I am sharing my home with another unsupported single mom, a gifted creative whose partner abandoned her and their three children (ages 3-13), leaving them stranded in Costa Rica. 

There are countless shades of stories like ours; they break my heart and ignite my passion for financially empowering single parent entrepreneurs to support their children while scaling their dreams. 

This is why I created The Black Unicorn Fund —a grassroots initiative offering $500-$5000 micro-grants to fuel the visions of unsupported mothers who show strong signs of creative entrepreneurship and unshakable courage.

These are not just microgrants—we’re planting the seeds of a village. Our dream stretches further: to one day buy land and build a thriving Mama Village, where families of all shapes can live, create, and rise together in a tight-knit community rooted in care, creativity, and collective power.
